ABSTRACT
Total ureterectomy with excision of a bladder cuff is the standard treatment for TCC of the upper tract, and occasionally for benign diseases. The usual technique may often be difficult and time consuming. A simplified technique is described. Between 1975 and 1999. 40 ureters were removed by the transvesical imagination technique. The indication was reflux nephropathy [12 cases] preparation for kidney transplantation [3 cases], megaureters [4 cases] and TCC of the upper tract [18 cases;] Operative time was greatly reduced and there were no complications related to the procedures. The procedure failed in 2 cases of megaureter. In selected patients, properly done, the invagination transvesical ureterectomy is a rapid and safe procedure
